Towards innovative waste management

With the ever-increasing global population and industrial growth, efficient waste management has become more crucial than ever. Various innovative technologies have been developed to improve this process and reduce the environmental impact of waste, recover valuable resources and generate renewable energy. HTC is one of these advanced technologies that can help preserve the environment and improve the quality of life for future generations.

Our HTC System

This environmentally friendly solution for managing waste materials in metropolitan areas includes a continuously operating Hydrothermal Carbonization (HTC) reactor. Each module of our facility is designed to process approximately 16,000 tonnes of input material per year, with the total plant capacity reaching approximately 60,000 tonnes per year. Smaller modules with a capacity of around 5,000 tonnes per year can also be combined modularly to achieve higher capacities with greater redundancy.

The provider of our HTC plant, we have transformed the complex processes of collection, transportation, and recycling into a sustainable conversion journey.

In addition to processing various types of waste in our HTC units to produce clean energy, we recycle waste into valuable green products, such as HydroChar. HydroChar, a lignite-like material, can be used as a soil improver or for thermal processing. Optional vacuum distillation enables the extraction of fertilizers like phosphorus, and the germ- and hormone-free process water can be utilized in biogas plants to enhance efficiency.

Besides processing various types of waste in our HTC units to produce clean energy, we also recycle our own waste to create green products, like seedballs useful for the agriculture and sylvo-pastoral sectors.
This environmentally friendly solution for the problem of waste materials for metropolitan areas would include a continuously operating HTC reactor. Our smallest module has a capacity of ca. 5,000 tonnes of input material per year but can be modularly combined for higher capacities with a higher redundancy.

Waste to Value

Our carbon-neutral waste management facility is designed to treat various types of waste, from plastics to mixed or organic waste. Each module processes approximately 16,000 tonnes of input material per year (approximately 2 tonnes per hour, based on 8,000 operating hours), and the total plant processes around 60,000 tonnes per year with 10% dry matter, producing approximately 5,100 tonnes of HydroChar (dry basis) per year. This innovative process maximizes resource recovery, minimizes environmental impact, and promotes sustainability by transforming waste into valuable products for use in agriculture, construction, and other sectors.
